Packing away...

We sold our house and now I have been busy packing away in my sewing room. I thought I would start now since I have A LOT of "stuff". What you see is all from my from sewing room. I haven't even started packing my fabrics that are stored upstairs. It will be easy when I DO get upstairs.

I did leave my UFO project Patchwork Party 2011 out for when I just want to sew. I received my extra fabric that I need but I ordered the wrong one. So I had to reorder the correct one. *sigh*

Anyway, we will be busy this coming week. Vet visit, Dr's. appt., etc... busy, busy, busy week! We made an offer on a house but another buyer beat us to it! We now have to go back to Hawaii to look for another. We leave on the 5th until the 22nd to find a home! I am so sad...BUT we will find another home for us. Here is a picture the house that I fell in LOVE with. Open floorplan that I truly love!

UFO - Patchwork Party 2011...

I had a productive weekend in my sewing studio. I finished four blocks. I had to order a piece of green swirl fabric to finish the rest...I goofed in my cutting. Don't you hate that???? I should have that piece here by end of the week and complete the rest.

Here are my blocks

 "Coat of Arms"
by Quilting by the Bay

 "Herald Square"
by Stitchin Heaven

 "Turley's Inn
by Grandma's Attic Quilting

"Knight and Day"
by Shabby Fabrics

While I am waiting on the green swirl fabric, I will continue with my hand applique project. As I mentioned before, I love Erin Russek and her applique designs. If you haven't heard about her, check her out. Click on picture below. I really like her applique technique.

UFO - Patchwork Party 2011...

Another block completed. This block is called "Astoria" from Thimble Creek. I really like how this block came out.

Thimble Creek Quilt Shop

Next block I am going to work on is called "Turley's Inn" created by Grandma's Attic Quilting.
Here is their layout. I am still not sure for my layout. I thought if I post each layout, I can get some ideas.

Before going into my studio, I need to get  few things done. As some of you know, we are selling a rental house that is next door to us. We received the inspection report, told them what we will repair. Hope to hear back from buyer today as to whether or not they agree. So I need to help my husband for a few hours. Most of the work he will have to do. So at least I am there for support and give him my input. If you like to take a peek at the house we are selling, click here.

Hope everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Patchwork Party Block 2...

I could not complete my block 2. I am short of fabric and had to order more...grrr! I cut the pieces out exactly as instructed. So now I have to put my block aside and wait for the fabric to come in to complete. I normally would call the store and let them know, but since this is a UFO 2011 quilt, I felt I should go ahead and purchase my fabric. *sigh* This is one of the reasons why we should ALWAYS work on a project in a timely manner. Right? HA...HA!
I needed more of the rustic fabric to complete this block. It is sometimes frustrating when they do not give you enough fabric. BUT I would rather be short of fabric than a very confusing instructions any day!

Have a wonderful day!

Patchwork Party Block 2011 continued...

I completed my first party block last night. I love the colors and how block turned out. I am still unsure what quilt layout I want to use. I still have time.

Block kit is from Pine Needles Sewing Center

Pine Needles Sewing Center quilt layout looks like this

My next block, is from Quilted Treasures. Their block looks like this:

Since this will be my fall quilt, I decided to make pillow cases too. I think I have enough fabric.

We will My boys will be out today so I am going to just work in my sewing studio and get some serious sewing done! *YES*

It is going to be a very nice day here in the Northwest. Sun, Sun, SUN. I hope it warms up later this afternoon.

UFO Completed...

I am so thrilled I finished a UFO! This is from a block swapped "Boomerang 2.0" that I participated in 2011! I just threw the swapped blocks together.

Now I am working on Patchwork Party 2011 blocks. I love the colors.

I will post a picture of my first block.

Finally able to...

Post after being back a week from our trip with my brother and niece. Here are some pictures of our trip to Eastern Washington. I stayed in our trailer the whole time. It was very cold, dreary and rain!!!

Picture of my brother Paul and his daughter Harley-Moani going for a stroll.

This is my niece looking serious. I tried and tried to get her to smile...she just would not budge!

This is my husband Gary practicing for his first National remote control boat race. Which by the way, he placed 7th in the Nationals. IMO pretty good for his first time!

 Our 5th wheel
 Fall is definitely here!

She FINALLY smiled for me! Playing on her IPad. Now what kid at 3 years old owns their own IPAD?

I didn't get a lot of hand sewing done. However, I did finish a hand applique block. I am working on Florabunda by Erin Russek. I love her designs and her instructions are so easy to follow. I love her applique technique. Anyway, here is my first block.

I am working on the next block. It gives me something to do at night while my husband is watching TV. 8)

Have a great day!
